Pediatric & Family Clinic
Offering scientifically proven lifestyle interventions to treat obesity among children and adolescents.
Early Interventions for a Lifetime of Wellness
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) growth charts, nearly 20% of children in the U.S. between the ages of 2 and 19 have a body mass index (BMI) equal to or greater than the 95th percentile
At ZoeStyle Medicine, we help prevent, manage, and reverse the health complications associated with childhood obesity through progressive treatment stages, as needed. We empower family members and use scientifically proven behavioral and lifestyle interventions to treat children and adolescents between the ages of 6-18 who have a BMI equal to or greater than the 85th percentile.
Tip: Use the CDC’s BMI Calculator for Children and Teens to identify your child’s BMI percentile based on their age and CDC growth charts.

How It Works
Stage 1
Prevention and reversal efforts are focused on education and the support of family-led lifestyle changes.
Stage 2 (If Needed)
Weight is managed through planned, sustainable meals and provider-directed physical activity. Consultations with a nutritionist, mental health therapist, and/or yoga therapist are also available.
Stage 3 (If Needed)
More structured, multidisciplinary lifestyle interventions are prescribed for maximum results. If medically indicated, we can also refer eligible adolescents to specialists who may offer certain weight-loss medications, bariatric surgery, etc.
“Forever changed for the better, this was so much more than weight management or fitness. This was a holistic mind and body transformation. I am beyond grateful for it!”

For Referring Providers
At the center of the February 2023 American Academy of Pediatrics clinical practice guidelines for the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with obesity, is Comprehensive Obesity Treatment (COT). COT includes providing intensive, longitudinal treatment that is tailored to the ongoing and changing needs of the individual child or adolescent with obesity, and the family. Intensive health behavior and lifestyle treatment (IHBLT) is the cornerstone of COT.
IHBLT is most effective when it occurs face-to-face, engages the whole family, and delivers at least 26 hours of nutrition, physical activity, and behavior change lessons over 3 to 12 months. IHBLT is foundational to COT and should continue longitudinally with a plan for transition into adulthood. Unfortunately, effective IHBLT requires significantly more time and resources than are typically allocated to routine well-child visits.
This is where ZoeStyle Medicine’s Pediatric & Family Clinic comes in. We focus on behavioral, medical, and lifestyle needs creating real change for a lifetime of wellness. Our clinic offers a nurse practitioner/lifestyle coach/fitness instructor, registered dietician nutritionist, mental health specialists, and other providers.
