My name is Elise Lamprecht and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have a versatile work background assisting with children, adolescents, and adults of multiple diagnoses and life situations in settings including outpatient, inpatient, and residential. What I love most about my job is being able to collaborate together with individuals of unique backgrounds, life experiences, strengths, perspectives, and goals and finding ways to meet those goals. Seeing my clients smile, find balance and happiness in themselves, their emotions, their relationships, and their lives, brings me so much joy! Therapy is about learning skills and solving problems, and it is also about learning about yourself, building relationships, and having that person you can go to when you feel stuck or like no one else is listening.
Life is hard and that’s why it is a priority of mine to build a safe, supportive place where you are reminded of how strong you are and maybe even receive a little humor to brighten your day. There is no right or wrong way to do therapy, and it is my job to help you find the route that works best for you to get to where you want to go.
Sometimes therapy can be intimidating for a number of reasons. It can be hard to address things that are emotionally painful, that you hold private, or that others have judged you for. Sometimes it is hard to trust in yourself, the process, or the clinician. Empathy, a willingness to understand, and a lack of judgement is at the core of my practice and who I am as a person. Additionally, goals are based on what you have interest in working on at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Therapy is not meant to be a one size fits all. This means that each client gets a unique version of therapy that is tailored to them, their needs, their communication and learning style, and their culture. Your uniqueness is one of many things that makes you amazing and I want to match that uniqueness in my therapy approach. My job is not to make you like everyone else, but to help you reach the goals you want to reach and to help you amplify your strengths.
The great part about therapy is how much say you have in it. Don’t like an approach? I can change it. Not comfortable with a topic at the moment? We can address it on your timeline. Want to change your goals or the focus of therapy? Let’s do it!
In therapy, you are the expert. Perhaps you know yourself a lot, or not so much. Maybe you thought you knew yourself, but a situation really changed your perspective or confused you. All those situations are ok. We will build from where you are and explore from there.
Because you are the expert, we will collaborate together to create positive change. I will act as a supportive figure who helps you to consider or look deeper into areas that you would like to address. I am committed to listen to you, ask questions, and let you determine what you want for your therapy, yourself, and your future.
I consistently update myself on the latest in therapy techniques and knowledge to make sure you are being provided with the most effective techniques and insights. But therapy is not all about psychoeducation. It’s also about having that person in your corner who is always rooting for you. No matter who you are, you are a person worth rooting for!
One of the most common things I hear after my clients and I get into a rhythm in therapy is how much they wish they had done this sooner. You deserve happiness, you deserve to love yourself, you deserve to have help! Growth is possible and occurs outside of therapy, but it quite often is accelerated and made easier within therapy. So, if something has brought you to this page and you are considering what therapy has to offer you; ask questions, get details, look for a good therapeutic match, and/or just try it out. You owe it to yourself to try!
At the core of therapy is the human connection that we all benefit from. I want to end by vocalizing how much clients have benefited me in addition to me being able to assist them. Each person’s individual strengths help me strengthen areas of myself. Each person’s story of overcoming struggle inspires continued hope for me and the hope I have for others I work with. Each person’s unique healing process teaches me new ways to help others. Each individuals’ unique perspective allows me to consider things from a new angle. Client feedback allows me to improve and be a better version of myself for those that provide the feedback and for others. Client’s willingness to keep trying, willingness to be flexible, and ongoing perseverance are inspirational. We all have things to learn from one another and while my focus in therapy is how I can help you, I am forever grateful for the contributions each client makes to my life!
