What inspired you to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner?

When I first began working as a nurse in a hospital setting, I recognized a gap in mental health care within the critical care unit. I started advocating for psychiatric consultations for patients adjusting to significant health stressors. During this time, I developed a strong interest in both the neurological and psychological aspects of illness. I chose nursing because I genuinely enjoy helping and caring for people during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Why did you decide to join ZoeRVA Health?

I was drawn to ZoeRVA Health because of its holistic approach to care, which integrates both mind and body and offers access to shared services. The organization is dedicated to helping patients achieve wellness by meeting them where they are and supporting them in reaching their personal goals.

How would your patients describe you?

My patients would describe me as a good listener who is energetic, caring, supportive, empathetic, and easy to talk to.

What is one thing you would like all your patients to know?

I want my patients to know that I take the time to conduct thorough assessments and work collaboratively with them to identify their needs and goals, providing patient-centered, evidence-based care.

What brings you joy at work?

I find great joy in serving as an educator and making a positive impact on my patients’ lives. Meeting new people, hearing their stories, and seeing their progress over time is incredibly rewarding. I am also proud to be part of the team at ZoeRVA Health, whose compassion and dedication clearly reflect a genuine commitment to patient care.

What do you do for self-care?

I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family. I also love to travel and always look forward to my next adventure.
