A diagnostic assessment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) involves three main parts:

  1. Gathering a clinical history through an interview with your provider
  2. The completion of one or more rating scales
  3. An objective measurement of symptoms (QbCheck)

QbCheck is an FDA-cleared test measuring all three core symptom domains; hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention. It is used when evaluating ADHD symptoms and measuring response to ADHD treatment.

The 15-20 minute computer-based assessment measures patients’ ability to maintain attention and impulse control. Meanwhile, a webcam tracks movements, and therefore activity, during the test. The results are based on a comparison of the patient’s performance with data from other people of the same sex and age.

$299 (self-pay). Unfortunately, Zoe Direct does not accept insurance.

The raw data is available immediately after the test is completed (click here to view a sample report); however, one of our psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (or another trained medical provider) must first interpret the data in combination with other clinically relevant information. The full results will be discussed with you during a follow-up appointment.

  • Try to ensure adequate sleep the night before the test
  • Avoid consuming excessive amounts of caffeine the day of the test
  • If you are to be tested while on ADHD medication, please ensure that you take the medication as directed
  • For a child, explain that they will be taking a test on a computer which is designed to be boring

Zoe Direct, LLC (“Zoe Direct”) is an independent healthcare practice and a separate legal entity from Zoe Therapy Services, LLC (and any other entities operating under the “ZoeRVA Health” brand). However, Zoe Direct is a corporate affiliate of ZoeRVA Health and participates in certain shared administrative, technology, and care-coordination functions.

Referrals from ZoeRVA Health providers are made solely on the basis of each patient’s medical, clinical, and therapeutic needs. Providers exercise independent clinical judgment and do not consider ownership interests, business relationships, or financial arrangements when making referral recommendations. Clinically appropriate options – including both affiliated (internal) and unaffiliated (external) providers, when available, are discussed with each patient. The patient is informed of their right to choose any qualified provider and retains full freedom to select the provider or organization that best meets their needs.

Unaffiliated providers are welcome to refer patients to Zoe Direct for QbCheck assessments and will receive a copy of the generated report as any medical provider trained by Qbtech (the company that makes QbCheck) is qualified to interpret the results.
