Authenticity Aura | Healing Lens | Creative Catalyst
Meet Natalie Stansfield, a Licensed Professional Counselor whose compassionate, culturally attuned approach to therapy is making a meaningful impact at Zoe. Natalie works with adults navigating mental health and substance use challenges, bringing a wealth of experience from both community mental health and private practice settings.
A Journey Rooted in Purpose
Natalie’s path to becoming a therapist began early—at just 15 years old, she knew she was meant to help others. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University, with minors in Gender Studies and Psychology, and later completed her Master’s in Counselor Education at Virginia Tech. Her professional journey started in addiction services, where she provided care across PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels. Today, her focus has shifted toward trauma, anxiety, depression, and LGBTQIA+ issues.
Therapeutic Approach
Natalie describes her style as strengths-based, trauma-informed, client-centered, and experiential, with a strong emphasis on cultural relational care. She integrates techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and often incorporates expressive and experiential arts to help clients connect more deeply with their healing process.
What Clients Appreciate
Natalie isn’t your typical “blank slate” therapist. Clients often comment on how she presents as a “real person,” which helps build trust and ease. Her authenticity, warmth, and relatability make her a comforting presence for those navigating life’s challenges.

A Glimpse Into Her World

Words of Encouragement
One piece of advice Natalie often shares: “Every problem has a solution—even if that solution is acceptance.”

For Natalie, the most rewarding moments are when clients share their wins—whether it’s a new job, a relationship milestone, or a personal breakthrough. Being part of those celebrations is what makes her work so fulfilling.
