Rachel Beck-Berman LCSW
Rachel brings a wealth of experience working across psychiatric, hospital, community-based, and outpatient settings throughout Central Virginia. She feels grateful to have worked within hospital systems, county mental health, and private practice environments, as this experience has helped ground her understanding of mental health systems at large and strengthened her ability to support clients within them.
Rachel is trauma‑informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and deeply focused on person‑centered care. Her therapeutic goal is to actively listen, support, and collaborate with each individual as she works with them to identify the best approach to recovery. She strongly believes in creating a safe, non‑judgmental therapeutic space that serves as the foundation for vulnerability, connection, and healing.
In her clinical work, Rachel utilizes a blend of expressive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person‑centered, and strength‑based approaches, thoughtfully incorporating additional therapeutic modalities to best meet the goals of each client. She also has training in play therapy and therapeutic art, which offer engaging, creative, and emotionally safe ways for clients to express themselves and work toward healing.
