Kristofer Leduc SISW
Kris earned his Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech. He has a strong background in mental health skill-building and crisis care, where he has supported adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges. He enjoys working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and questions around purpose or direction in life. His therapeutic approach is grounded in curiosity, authenticity, and collaboration.
Drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Kris focuses on helping clients build practical skills for everyday life while also encouraging meaningful reflection and personal growth. He values tailoring therapy to align with each individual’s strengths, values, and goals. Clients often describe him as a thoughtful listener who offers honest feedback and creates a safe, supportive space to explore difficult topics without pressure or judgment.
As trust develops, Kris adapts his approach to meet the needs of each client, balancing support and encouragement with thoughtful challenges when appropriate. He is particularly passionate about helping individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, hopeless, or uncertain about the direction they want their lives to take.
Outside of work, Kris enjoys learning new skills, working with his hands, and pursuing a wide range of interests. He is known for his curiosity and his collection of interesting facts.
Kris is currently a Supervisee in Social Work (SISW) in the state of Virginia, approved by the Virginia Board of Social Work to provide services under the supervision of a licensed professional as he completes the requirements for licensure. He is under the supervision of Stephanie DerHovhannessian, LCSW.
